The Greenhouse: Dublin

One brief look at the menu makes it clear you're in the hands of an inventive chef. The Greenhouse, Eamonn O'Reilly's newest venture, has Finnish chef Mickael Viljanen at the helm, creating dishes that makes the ordinary quite extraordinary. New ideas and novel flavour combinations are effortlessly coupled with great culinary skill. A 5 star epicurean experience, located off St. Stephens Green, it is fully deserving of its Michelin Star for 2017.

This luxurios modern restaurant, with much-revamped interior, plush upholstered seats and very beautifully set tables, showcases inventive contemporary Irish cuisine using regional produce.

We are passionate about natural ingredients and using Irish produce where possible but above all it has to be of the very best quality where mother nature, flavour, balance and seasonality is everything, all cooked with skill and imagination and served with warmth and style.

A surprise vegetarian menu is always available and all dietary requirements can be catered for.

"Worth the cost" Service and ambience were great. Food was amazing. Enjoyed 6 courses with the wine pairing. Definitely worth the money. Very inventive dishes.

Such a lovely experience. Smallish restaurant we booked into for lunch because we could not get a dinner reservation. They took my shabby coat and cheesy shopping bag and stored them without a raised eyebrow. Lovely tasting menu which has been described in other reviews. Just really delicious. I will mention though the foie gras parfait with multiple preparations of green apples and the smoked mackerel with diced (yes I know its brunnoise) cucumber. Holy cow Mickael Viljanen (the chef). He was in the kitchen and I could see him cooking from where I was sitting. And as we experienced often this weekend, french speaking sommelier. Yeah Dublin. Would go back in a heartbeat.

"Best Fine Dining in Dublin" It’s no wonder this small gem finally got their Michelin star, with it’s fresh and brave take on modern cuisine. The moment you sit down you are awaken to nurturing smell of their fresh artisan bread in line with Finish inspired traditions. Do go for the 6 course menu if you can and enjoy the amazing foie gras royal with granny apple, walnut and smoked eel and right after enjoy the wonderful turbot with asparagus. This is then followed by end of lamb crepinette or if you choose the courgette flower with crab and scallop. To finish have their cheese plate!

"Truly excellent food and service" We were here not long after it opened first and were quite underwhelmed. But wow what a great change. We were blown away with the quality of food and the perfect flavours and presentation. We opted for the four course version with one of us having the tasting wines. The amuse bouche were also superb. We booked at 6.30 as the next available booking was 9.30, so earlier then we’d normally eat. We were first in for the evening so lacking a bit on atmosphere, but staff were very pleasant and weren’t long making us feel very welcome. Have posted images of all our dishes and I really cannot recommend the food highly enough. It’s a must for a special night out.

"Faultless food" The 75 euro lunchtime surprise tasing menu was absolutely brilliant. We loved it, even on a quiet Tuesday lunchtime - fantastic and unusual flavours, creative presentation... wonderful stuff. We were lucky enough to visit both the Greenhouse and Chapter One on our trip to Dublin and preferred the former. Highly recommended.
