The Merrion: Dublin

The Merrion is one of the leading luxury Dublin hotels. The deluxe guest rooms and suites are the epitome of elegance. Supremely inviting and comfortable, The Merrion offers the finest Dublin City hotel accommodation and is home to the 2-star Michelin Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, The Cellar Bar and Restaurant, and the intimate No. 23 Cocktail Bar. All rooms are comfortable and inviting, each furnished with a King Koil Executive Club 6 bed, and luxurious 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed-linen to ensure a good night’s sleep.

The Merrion is a marriage of exquisite comfort, relaxed elegance and advanced guest facilities, including free Wi-Fi, an 18m pool, spa and gym. The Tethra Spa is a tranquil and relaxing place of retreat equipped with private treatment rooms where guests can enjoy a wide range of massages and beauty treatments delivered by our team of experienced therapists, using ESPA and Darphin products.

This Georgian Five Star Dublin hotel has been restored to the highest possible standards and the designers' brief was both simple and clear: "To create a space with sensitivity to the 18th-century heritage of the building, with light and airy bedrooms".

Signature Suites

Lord Monck & Antrim Suites
These spacious suites are located on the upper floors of the former No. 22 and No. 23 Upper Merrion Street and are filled with natural daylight. The Lord Antrim Suite looks out over Government Buildings, while the Lord Monck Suite has views over The Merrion’s private landscaped gardens.
Both suites feature painstakingly restored original rococo plasterwork. Each Speciality Suite is furnished with a king-size bed (6ft 6”). The Sitting Room in The Lord Antrim suite offers a dining room table seating four, and a sitting area with a sofa and two armchairs.
The Lord Monck suite also has a small second room that can be used as an office, gym, dining room, or single bedroom.

Merrion Suite
Located on the upper floors of the Georgian Main House, the one-bedroom Merrion Suites overlook The Merrion’s private gardens. The suites are decorated with Irish fabrics and period-style furniture in keeping with the architecture and interiors of the original 18th-century townhouses.

Junior Suite
Located mainly on the first floor of the Georgian Main House, many of the Junior Suites overlook Government buildings or The Merrion’s classical gardens. The rooms have been designed using Irish fabrics and period-style furniture sympathetic to the architecture and interiors of the original 18th-century townhouses.

EXcellent service and attentio to detail
The whole experience from the moment we arrived to our departure was amazing. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. My son's wedding took place in the hotel and the attention to detail was incredible. Even though the numbers were small due to Covid restrictions we had a fantastic time.

Amazing Stay!
Couldn't fault the Merrion at all, from extra safety precautions, to the spa, to the food - everything was wonderful. Was so lovely to spend a few days relaxing. As we're from Dublin and couldn't leave the county, we were worried that we wouldn't get into that 'holiday mode' but the Merrion had us relaxed the second we walked in the door. Staff so friendly and helpful, room was gorgeous and exceptionally clean. Amazing!

Our favorite Dublin retreat
This was our 4th stay at The Merrion and it never disappoints and always leaves us amazed at the experience and the world class level of service. It is so nice to be greeted by the familiar faces of Brian and the others at the door. The front desk staff are outstanding and always helpful. You are treated like family. The rooms are breathtaking, especially the suites in the historic section. The gifts in the rooms-gourmet Merrion chocolates, wine occasionally, water, etc are fantastic. The recent renovations in the back are beautiful. The breakfast buffet is remarkable and a daily highlight. The gardens are an oasis amid the bustle of the city. The audio art tour of the Merrion collection is a don’t miss. The sole on my shoe detached during a day of walking and Brian personally took them to a cobbler for repair. That is the level of 5 star service at the Merrion. I have recommended this hotel to many friends and colleagues and all have been just as impressed. You need to treat yourself to a stay at The Merrion if in Dublin. We will be back again soon.

"Top notch, best of the best!"
I had the pleasure of staying at The Merrion from October 11-14. I have never had a more enjoyable experience at a hotel ever before. Right from when you arrive, you notice the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. The attention to detail (small details), never goes unnoticed. The beauty, serenity are unmatched, and the cleanliness are of the highest level. This is truly a 5 star hotel of impeccable standards, unfortunately I was only here for a brief long weekend stay. This now is the new barometer for future hotels, but when I’m back in Dublin... I will only stay at The Merrion!

We never do, and never will, stay anywhere else in Dublin
Having been fortunate to stay at some special hotels, we wondered: could the Merrion live up to our memories from prior trips years ago? We needn’t have worried. I guess the best way to convey our experience is to say that the hotel anticipates one’s every need. The service is friendly, confident and polished. The property is well-maintained, feeling both classic and contemporary. One is made to feel so welcome. We’ve never considered staying elsewhere in Dublin, and it’s hard to imagine we ever will.

Perfect stay for my 40th Birthday!
Stayed here for my 40th. We had a meal booked at another location so we only had soup and snacks in this hotel but they were beautiful.

The staff are very friendly and the treatment we got from the second we left our car and throughout our stay was amazing. Everyone was so friendly.

The room was perfect and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

The parking was €25 but that was no problem, especially for Dublin as parking prices are expensive.

I will 100% be returning for another visit and I’m looking forward to it.

"A luxury escape within Dublin"
Everything about The Merrion was first class upon arrival. Front desk, concierge, restaurant, and everyone we encountered at The Merrion were very friendly and extremely helpful. Service was top notch.

The room was one of the finest rooms I've ever stayed in with all the amenities you would need. It was the most comfortable bed we had while staying in Ireland for a week.

Dublin can be very busy city but once you step foot into The Merrion you are transported to a private retreat. We were able to walk to every stop we planned on making in Dublin: Temple Bar area, Trinity College, Guinness, and St. Stephen's Green.
