A GASTROMONIC DELIGHT !
During a recent visit to Baltimore, Co. Cork, we were fortunate to get a booking in Dede’s Restaurant at the Custom House. When you arrive you know you’re going to have a special evening.
Ahmet offers a three course set menu, comprising of the best local produces, cooked and artistically presented which succeeded in arousing many of my over 5,000 taste buds. We started with sourdough bread and saksuka, then Manti, followed by tomato mozzarella, then lamb bulger but the delight of the food was the apple, blackberry, lavender and sorrel grape lemon. The suggested wine by Maria Archer – Chateau Brun-Despagne Grand Vin de Bordeaux paired perfectly with everything we ate.
The front of house staff, directed by Maria, were competent, efficient, friendly and whose love and knowledge of the food was evident. All wore masks and Covid 19 conformity was followed at all times.
We were invited to partake of our vintage port in the Barbeque area surrounded by a very warm chiminea, complete with sheep-skin rugs and warm wraps – were everybody observed Social Distancing.
