Property Overview

Cava Bodega is located in the prime city centre location of Middle Street in Galway City. Cava Bodega first opened its doors in 2008 by JP McMahon and Drigín Gaffney with the goal of introducing new flavours to Galway & celebrating the deliciousness that is Spanish cooking. Since 2008 the team have successfully reached that goal and has remained a popular location for delicious cuisine, an inviting ambience and carefully selected wines and spirits.

The tapas menus allow for a significant range of Spanish delights while also showcasing the welcoming culture of sharing food around a table. You may be tempted by the enticing Spanish wine, sherry, beers and ciders that are on offer in Cava Bodega with many sourced locally or from Spain directly, allowing for a beautiful fusion of cultures.

Cava Bodega is the perfect spot for a glass of wine, catching up with friends, a large family gathering or just to move out of your palette's comfort zone and embrace another culture.

Visited with a friend, we both ordered a Paella dish and a patatas+meat dish (each) expecting the portions to be a traditional tapas size and therefore manageable. However the portion sizes were actually far more generous than we had expected and therefore very filling (and we ended up not finishing it all). Anyway the food was delicious, we had the Paella Marinara and the Veggy Paella, patatas/chorizo and patatas/iberico. The interior (we sat upstairs) was traditional and cosy and meant a very nice dining experience. The staff were courteous and enthusiastic about their place of work (which you don't see often) and we even got a complimentary aperitif after the meal, we went for a Kahlua. Highly recommended but do make a booking.

God bless the world. An excellent Spanish restaurant in Galway Ireland with a Romanian host and a Nigerian server. Do not hesitate to spend your time and money here!
