Courtyard Cottages: Meath

The Courtyard Cottages, tucked away on the grounds of the renowned Tankardstown estate, exude elegance and luxury.

Set on an 80 acre woodland setting, the five star self-catering suites, overlook a central courtyard, in a picturesque garden village setting.

The cottages have been luxuriously furnished in keeping with the ambience and splendour of the adjoining 18th Century Manor House.

Less than an hour’s drive from Dublin, the beautifully appointed courtyard cottages offer the luxury of privacy but with the option of gourmet dining in the neighbouring Tankardstown House which hosts three separate restaurants.

Visitors can enjoy the natural outdoor amenities such as cycling or walking in the parkland demesne or luxuriate in the outdoor hot tub, enclosed in the walled garden.

For those rainy days, guests can avail of the well-stocked DVD library. Distinctive extras including wi-fi, equisite toletries, flat screen TV, guest bar and fine linen are standard in all cottages.

The courtyard suites at Tankardstown are approx. 2 km from the heritage town of Slane and less than an hour’s drive from Dublin

"Just lovely"
Just home from the most pleasant and relaxing overnight stay. The Laragh room was bright with dual aspect and a lovely comfortable bed.
Dinner in Brabazon was a delight, possibly the best meal we’ve had in our years of dining here, washed down with a lovely Prosecco and some Pinot Noir recommended by Derek the very knowledgeable and always friendly maitre d. After-dinner drinks on the terrace before retiring for the evening. Beautiful breakfast the next morning followed by a lovely walk through the grounds and then a delightful coffee break in the sun where Gemma and her team attended to us so well. Tankardstown is relaxing, the surroundings are beautiful, the food is exquisite and the staff are charming and friendly. Treat yourself

"Amazing experience"
My partner and I stayed in Tankardstown House on its first evening reopened after closure because of Covid-19. Despite being closed for 3 months, the standard of food and service would almost suggest it hadn't closed at all. We were warmly greeted on check-in by the general manager and escorted to our room. Staff were engaging in social distancing and there were lots of sanitisation stations evident. We stayed in a double room in one of the courtyard cottages which was spotless and comfortable. Dinner in Brabazon Restaurant was outstanding. Service was excellent and staff went above and beyond.

"Beautiful Venue"
Stayed here for one night after a wedding reception. The building and the grounds are stunning, and the staff were very accommodating. We stayed in Cottage #1, I stayed in the Dexter room. The heating downstairs was crazy hot, but it was comfortable in my room. I couldn't access the free wifi from my room, which was a bit of a pain. But otherwise a lovely place. Wish I'd been able to stay longer!

"Short stay"
We went to Tankardstown house midweek with my wife's elderly parents
In short the staff were excellent ,the rooms in the house are stunning with many of the old characteristics remaining intact. The library suite on the ground floor is a step back into victorian times wow and the master suite must be the honeymoon suite. It too oozes the wow factor.
The restaurants are a short walk 200 yrds from the house but worth the stroll through the grounds for award winning food. The home made bread and butter a must.
Well done Tankardstown and thank you

Tankardstown House a tranquil, peaceful relaxing oasis!
Just returned from an overnight stay in Tankardstown House, I could not fault the level of service we received from the moment we arrived and were shown to our cottage. I cannot single out one member of staff as they were all faultless, fabulous service from the bar to the restaurants, to reception, housekeeping and staff in the main house. I had the most comfortable night’s sleep I have ever had, beds are amazing and the view of the tree canopy from the skylight was magical !!! Dinner in the Brabazon Restaurant is a must. I would like to thank everyone for an amazing stay and I am looking forward to returning sooner rather than later! Many thanks, Conor F.
