Connell’s House: Meath

Connell's House is a traditional thatched cottage dating back to 1690. It's the oldest standing dwelling in Duleek and has recently undergone an extensive renovation. It has now been restored into a unique holiday home.

Connell's House is perfectly located for visiting the many historical sites in the beautiful Boyne Valley, as well Dublin city and Belfast. It's only a 10 minute drive to Brú na Boinne (New Grange), Battle of the Boyne, Hill of Slane and Millmount Tower, amongst many other sites along the Boyne Valley Drive.

Connell's Barn is adjacent to Connell's House, which is a beautifully restored Stone Barn and is also available to rent through Fivestar.ie, it sleeps up to 5 people.

Location

Connell's House overlooks the Village Green in Duleek, with the oldest Lime tree in Ireland. It's set back from the Main Street in a quiet location with plenty of free on street parking. The village has a variety of shops, cafes, pubs and two restaurants all within walking distance.

Connell's House & Barn is conveniently located 5 minutes from Junction 8 of the M1 motorway, providing easy access to Dublin Airport, Dublin City and Belfast.

Explore 'Ireland's Ancient East' whilst staying at Connell's Barn, check out their website for a variety of suggested tours along the eastern side of the island. The three-day tour ‘Unlock the Myths and Secrets of Ancient Pastoral Lands’ commences from Brú na Boinne (Newgrange) which is only 10 minutes from Connell's Barn.

A beautiful house and a wonderful host Karla. My family stayed here for four nights to attend a wedding near by, the house was amazing and Karla had though of everything we could possibly need for our stay. Leaving us milk coffee tea and a basket of goodies which was much appreciated. We loved our stay and the decor of the house is so pleasing to the eye. Thank you Karla for letting us stay in your fabulous house.

Karlas house exceeded our expectations. We were a group of 8 who enjoyed our stay from the moment we walked in. The space is stylish, clean and has everything you could need. The cottage is absolutely fabulous. A group of us went down for a small hen and enjoyed every minute. The house is beautiful with a lovely private garden. Karla is an amazing host and there was some beautiful personal touches.

Beautiful house with all necessary amenities. Good location - close to Tayto Park, Drogheda, Newgrange, beaches etc. Comfortable beds, with very clean facilities.
