Ideal for a weekend away, cultural tour, family gathering, private house rental or a private house party to celebrate in style. It’s a perfect size, not too big and yet not too small.

Adjacent to the main house, the courtyard villas offer a relaxed ‘home from home’ experience. The Gate Lodge is an idyllic archery situated at the entrance to the estate and remains unchanged save for the provision of all modern amenities during its restoration.

Whatever your choice of accommodation, a warm Irish welcome awaits you at Lisdonagh where your hosts, John & Finola Cooke, invite you to share with them this unique Irish heritage experience with delicious home-cooked and healthy food in a beautiful picture postcard setting.

It’s undeniable connection with its history and Georgian heritage creates an offering, not dissimilar, to that of Downtown Abbey!

Lisdonagh is a place with an ancient and magical history, where time appears to have no bearing. One would, at any moment expect to hear the call of the hounds or to see a fairy peeping from behind a limestone wall.

Our group of 19 stayed AT lisdonagh House plus one of the adjacent courtyard villas for the weekend to celebrate everybody turning 40. We had a fantastic weekend and this is the perfect venue for a reunion. Finola organized catering for us one of the nights and the food was impeccable. It was such a treat to be cooked for and then retire to the drawing room for the evening where the fire kept us cozy all evening. A really memorable weekend and location. We'll definitely be back!

Looking down onto the lake, the pastoral landscape is a joy to behold, either from inside the house or while wandering the fields and by roads of this very special house. Build in the 18 century, it truly is a jewel, the owners have updated the house tastefully, it's warm and comfortable with modern bedding and facilities. We had the pleasure and use of Lisdonagh Manor and one of the Coach Houses, "Inisfree" which is such a cute, cosy 2 bedroom house in the Coach yard. The caterer was superb, Martina cooked monk fish and rack of lamb for us on Saturday night, also a sweet roulade treat, it was ALL OF IT delicious, so totally YUM... honestly you'll love her food.

Myself and 19 others just spent a magical weekend at Lisdonagh House. The photos don't do the place justice and we all had goosebumps as we approached the house. It's in a world of it's own, with beautiful furniture, ornate décor, luxurious large rooms with fireplaces to keep cosy. The rooms are spacious, all en suite, very comfortable beds, great showers, good quality bed linen and towels. We had dinner cooked for us one of the nights and the cooking was top notch, and the kind hosts allowed us to take their horses for a hack. There are peaceful and tranquil walks to take as well. None of us wanted to leave on Sunday! Will definitely be back, this place is a gem.

A wonderful stay in the most beautiful part of Ireland! We had visited Ireland for the first time last year and fell in love with it, so this is actually our second time staying at Lisdonagh House! Lisdonagh house is a charming, rustic Georgian mansion situated perfectly in the Galway area. It is absolutely gorgeous! The house itself, the ground and the surrounding......how magical is it to be greeted by the sight of silvery white Connemara ponies dotting a vast grassland lined by a tranquil lake in the mornings?! It is a sight we shall never forget, and cherish, always, until we return again! The house itself is huge, easily accommodating large families with extended guests, granted we kept our numbers small, it was wonderful to be able to sleep in the basement occasionally to avoid having over-active kids waking us up early in the morning. The cozy drawing room had us spending many a night chatting and laughing, with the firewood crackling in the comforting fire place..... Finola is such a gracious host, she arranged the most sumptuous dinner for us to enjoy upon arrival, like last year. My husband has been salivating at the thought of the Guinness Stew since he had it last, it was heart-warming on the chilly night we arrived..... and then the aromatic sticky toffee pudding with the ice-cream....... the kids were ready to lick their plates! John, Finola's wonderful and knowledgeable husband, and Uiseann, their wonderful elder son, went out of their way to take the kids on a Connemara Pony ride, we walked around the ground of the house, listening to the history of Lisdonagh and John and Uiseann's insiders' scope about horse-breeding and racing. We wish we had more than a week to spend at Lisdonagh, but we will be back for sure! Till then, thank you for everything again, Finola, John, Uiseann, Olwyn and Aonghus!
