"Wow! Great place to stay! Our highest recommendation"
We arrived in the middle of a cold rain/wind storm (hey! it is Ireland), but it was all "sunshine" once we stepped inside. What a really great place! Mary, the hostess, greeted us at the front door, helped us with luggage, got us to our rooms to change out of our wet clothes, and then had tea and biscuits waiting for us by a warm fire. Next morning we arose to a lovely day, beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains in the secluded glacial valley, and an exceptional breakfast! The scones that Chef Virginie served were the best I ever tasted, and might be the best in the world. Excellent food for all meals, and Natalia the waitress provided very attentive/excellent service. The room we stayed in was very comfy and the bed provided an excellent night's sleep. A really great place to stay!! If you are a fisherman, Salmon fishing here is excellent, and I had some with my eggs for breakfast! My wife and I would definitely go back for a longer stay when we next get to Ireland. One note of caution - on the same road is the Delphi Resort/Spa. I have no idea what that place is like, but it is not the Lodge!
