Sandwiched between the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson River, this cabin makes a brilliant base for adventures in the great outdoors. Hiking trails, ski resorts and Kingston's riverfront gems are a short drive away, but you'll find books and board games back home if you're not keen on exploring. The interior is cosy and contemporary – think A-frame ceilings and a stone fireplace. Space won't be an issue, either, since a separate basement living area boasts bunk beds for the little ones, while parents have their own suite on the first floor. Better still is the sprawling backyard, where a panoramic deck, private hot tub and outdoor fire pit provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy the fresh air.
