The interiors combine rural understatement with mod-cons comfort – there’s a laid back living space, a dark wood kitchen with everything you need for cooking up Cretan-style dishes and cosy bedrooms that guarantee a peaceful night’s sleep.

Outside, on the covered terrace, a football table and dartboard keep your brood occupied in the lull before lunchtime. When it’s time to feast, serve up local produce hot off the barbecue. In the late afternoon, take a dip in the pool or soak up the sunshine on a waterside lounger.

If you’re itching to explore, it’s a two-minute drive to Milatos Cave and eleven minutes to the Latsidiani Kefala hiking trail. But if you’d prefer to take it easy, Milatos Beach is only a five-minute car ride away.
