Rossahilly House: Tyrone

Rossahilly House is nestled on the banks of Lower Lough Erne in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.

Set in its own private bay, with a southern aspect, this luxury rental enjoys a commanding position over the islands of the Lough and directly opposite the 7th and 9th greens of Lough Erne Golf Course.

Rossahilly House was built in the late 1920's within a 300 acre estate which hugged the Lower Lough Erne shoreline, comprising some of the most scenic views in Ireland.

Pitched pine timber was used in much of the construction and the fireplace in the Dining Room was carved by George Greenaway. George had previously worked at Belfast's Harland & Wolff shipyard and had worked extensively on the interiors of the luxury White Star Liners.

He replicated the First Class fireplaces in his carving of the fireplace in the Dining Room at Rossahilly House.

Part of the estate was originally vested to make way for a short runway which continues today in private ownership and allows guests of Rossahilly House to arrive via private plane or helicopter.

The nearby village of Ballinamallard is the ancestral home of Stanley Baldwin and his cousin, Rudyard Kipling. Oscar Wilde and Samuel Beckett both attended the Portora Royal School in Enniskillen, known as 'The Eton of Ireland'.

“Ideal for a family celebration”

Stayed at Rossahilly for a week as part of an extended family holiday ending with an 80th birthday celebration. The House was perfect for our needs, big enough so that we didn't feel crowded (there were 13 of us staying), the bedrooms were like suites and a large dining room overlooking Lough Erne made each evening's dinner special. We didn't even need to use the large converted barn space. The location is fabulous. All the guests at the celebration were impressed. The owner Rory was very helpful and arranged a local firm of caterers for our event (the caterers were also excellent). We had a wonderful stay, and our birthday girl was absolutely thrilled with the whole experience. I would recommend Rossahilly to anyone wanting to arrange a similar family celebration. Thanks Rory!

“Perfect for my 30th birthday celebrations!!”

A group of 19 of us stayed at Rossahilly for my 30th birthday celebrations and it was the perfect venue for a barbecue and dancing in the garden :) Great rooms, beautiful views of the lough, and nothing seemed too much trouble for the lovely owner Rory. Rossahilly exceeded all our expectations, we'll definitely be back!!
