The view of Kilkee Bay from In the Sea at Kilkee's wall of windows is both spectacular and mesmerizing. The weather by the sea changes by the hour and you have a front row seat from the comfort of the most beautiful and modern living space. Everything about Cliff Cottage, from windows to appliances to cabinetry, is first-rate.The kitchen and each of the four bathrooms are wonderful. All of the bedrooms are very well-appointed. Mary and her husband Matthew met us at the cottage on our arrival. They are extremely nice people. Throughout our stay, Mary could not have been more helpful and accessible. There are several bars and restaurants within a short walk. The surrounding landscapes in County Clare are breathtaking. In short, if you choose to stay at In the Sea at Kilkee, you will never regret it. There is no better place from which to explore and experience the wild Atlantic coast of Ireland.”

"This is by far one of the best places that we have ever stayed. One could not fault the attention to detail in this magnificent cottage. It was spotlessly clean. The location was completely perfect, literally a minutes walk to the beach. There are beautiful walks in Kilkee in either direction from the cottage. Christmas Mass was a lovely experience, with a choir that we have never heard the likes of, superb. The views from the cottage were stunning to say the least. This cottage has every possible thing that you could want. Even down to electric blankets in the beds. Every possible kitchen utensil that you could need and loads of bits and pieces in the larder. The underfloor heating was a lovely treat as well. We stayed over Christmas and got a very warm welcome with our welcome treats and mini Christmas tree and floral arrangement on the table. One could not go into the main room and not gasp at the view everytime. Mary was a pleasure to do business with. Cillian also was a great help to us showing us how to get everything up and going. The house is amazingly spacious and sleeps 7 people. Anyone that stays here will not want to leave it, is beyond words. Looking forward to definitely returning at a later stage."

Perfect, Perfect, Perfect This is without doubt in my top 5 places to stay in Ireland. I have been fortunate to stay in some nice places but this is just fantastic. The view as you look out the patio door is hypnotic as you watch the waves and the scenery continuously moving. The accommodation is 5 star, the attention to detail is wonderful as you move from oldy worldly (sleeping area) to very modern (living area), there is everything you could want for and more. The bedrooms are very cozy and the showers are just what you need after a long walk on the "Cliff walk" an absolute must. If you are coming on a golf holiday or a holiday that involves a few rounds of golf, this is again the perfect location , Lahinch up the road, Doonbeg even closer, Dromoland Castle 45 mins away and the lovely Shannon Golf course just before you fly back home. The house is a 10 minute stroll from the center of town where you can have a lovely meal in Murphy Blacks followed by a couple of pints., then to retreat back to the house for a night cap(or 5) in front of the wood burning stove. Well done to the owner for providing a magnificent retreat and being so welcoming. To anybody thinking about this, do it, i promise you you will not be disappointed it is perfect.

“This is a spectacular property finished to a very high standard with every possible convenience. Stunning views across the bay. Comfortable beds and beautifully decorated. We had a wonderful week with family. Mary was a very attentive host and was always available to answer any query. The kitchen is well equipped and everything was in excellent condition. I cannot recommend this property enough for anyone who wants to stay in Kilkee with added luxury.”

"The perfect cozy cottage" We had an amazing time at the cottage. The owners have done an amazing job with all the interiors and the colors as well. We all had the impression that a lot of love went into this home and we truly felt like we were staying in the best place around here. We felt very welcome from the start and they even managed to have a highchair and a cot there and also went to the trouble of buying a sleeping bag for our son. That was very much appreciated. We found everything we needed, the beds were super comfortable and there really wasn't anything we were missing. There were flyers and lots of information about things to do around the area and we all very much enjoyed being so close to the beach. The week definitely went by too fast and we would happily have stayed longer.

We had the pleasure of spending three nights in Mary’s cliff side cottage. I traveled with my two children, husband and a family friend. There was more than enough space for all of us. While the view is definitely the highlight of the cottage, the cottage is in impeccable condition with great care taken to every detail. The cottage is so beautiful and comfortable we did not want to leave. The cottage is located in a nice quiet area and is one of two houses located right on the shore. From the cottage it is a short walk to downtown Kilkee and Kilkee beach. We also enjoyed a longer walk to the magnificent cliffs of the Clare Coast. Mary is a generous and gracious host. Before our arrival she sent a list of recommended activities for the area based on our interests. Upon our arrival, Mary greeted us at the cottage and walked through the well documented instructions. She stocked the cottage with treats to eat and drink and she even made a delicious loaf of Guinness Bread. We arrived in the evening with no plans for dinner and Mary quickly called and arranged for a delicious dinner at Murphy Blacks. Mary made us feel completely welcome! If you have the opportunity to stay at Mary’s cottage, I would highly recommend it.
