A ten-minute drive from the Minoan tholos tomb of Kamilari, this home is located on the largest of the Greek islands, Crete, where dreamy beaches sit comfortably alongside vibrant villages and ancient history. Roam the island to find your favourite things, albeit a cafe or restaurant, a ruin, or perhaps just your favourite sandy beach.

When you’re not enjoying mezze and a crisp beer in one of the surrounding tavernas, you can rely on this home for your comforts. Claim a sunlounger for the day and simply soak up the Mediterranean sun as you catch up on your Greek mythology – it just so happens that Crete is rumoured to be the birthplace of the Olympian twins, Apollo and Artemis.

Skewer veggies for the grill as you cook up a feast on the barbecue before setting down together on the terrace for an alfresco meal. Inside, challenge each other to checkers when you’re not taking a dip or heading for the beach. Whatever you plan to do – and we sincerely hope it involves tracking down baklava – start your day by opening the bedroom doors to get a lungful of air and a good look at the gorgeous views.
