The first thing to say is that Eileen is a lovely, warm and welcoming host, who, despite not being there on the day of arrival, made every effort to communicate with us to arrange for someone to be there to welcome us with her lovely gifts of home-made brown bread, wine, logs for the fire etc. etc. We felt that she was going to look after us before we even met her and this was in fact the case. The house was lovely and warm and we were given freedom to put on the heat and water when we needed to boost the heating (which we rarely needed to). The price was great as it was all inclusive and we hardly needed to do anything as the house runs very smoothly. There are plenty of bathrooms, which is a real plus when there are 4 adults and 4 kids living under the same roof. Our Swiss friends came with their two kids and we felt that the house had lovely spacious bedrooms and plenty of space to play outside. There were even some great toys available to us in the utility room and the kids played with them on the lovely lawn. There was Sky TV, which was great (but no wifi -but it really didn't matter as we could do our emailing /internet while out on drives). The village of Glandore is extremely quiet and with that I mean, there is only one pub, but you could drink in the view!! On a sunny day the view was so beautiful, even at a short walk from the house we could see the beautiful sea and islands in the distance. Most days we went to the most fabulous beach at Inchydoney (worth the drive!!) and we also visited Schull for cute arty shops. Clonakily Supervalu was a real plus as we could get lovely fresh meats / fish / olives / cheese / wine and the staff were excellent. There is even a Lidl in I think, Skibbereen. The nights were restful as we sat by a cosy log fire (all logs were supplied generously by Eileen) and the nights were tranquil. I really enjoyed this holiday and would recommend this lovely holiday home to all my friends.
