This home is a haven for bright colours and pretty trinkets. The refrigerator is a taffy pink, and the bar chairs are a dusty rose, but the host has also successfully broken up these bold strokes of pink with darker colours to humble the playful space. This Lower East Side location is really special for multiple reasons. Not only are there tonnes of things to do in this authentic neighbourhood, but guests will have the privilege of looking straight at artist Shepard Fairey’s newest mural of actress and activist, Rosario Dawson, visible from every window of the apartment.

Home truths:
*The décor here is decidedly feminine, which might not suit all guests
*While the unobstructed western view is great, it can really heat up the apartment on sunny days
*Don’t pack your popcorn just yet, there is no smart tv or cable available at this home
*The huge, residents only terrace has ample furniture, but the cushions may not always be out and ready to use
