Nestled in the village of Maheri, deep in the Cretean countryside, you'll find this charming home. Built using stone and wood, it fits into its surroundings perfectly and offers a wonderful escape from everyday life for families or small groups of friends.

From the ceiling beams to the arches leading you from the living space to the dining room, there are plenty of traditional touches to admire inside. Cool and calm, it's the ideal place to kick back and relax between adventures – however, we think you'll want to spend most of your time outside soaking up the Greek sunshine. Head up to the roof terrace to drink in the epic views across the countryside – stretch out on a lounger to catch some rays, or slip into the hot tub as twilight falls.

The surrounding village has a couple of points of interest just a few minutes away from your front door. At one end you will find the white chapel of St John, perched on a rock, and at the other, there is a stone amphitheatre – if you visit at the right time, you might even have the opportunity to watch a play. And, should you fancy a day at the beach, the sands of Kalyves are just a 5km drive away, where you can swim in the glittering crystal clear waters.
