Presidential speeches often reveal the innermost mood of a nation. Even in the age of Social Media, the spoken word from the White House still carries tremendous influence and can inspire, encourage and even unite.

When Irish Prime minister Taoiseach Micheál Martin met Joe Biden this St. Patrick's day, both men spoke so eloquently as they expressed their abhorrence at Putin's aggression in Ukraine, reflecting perfectly the true feelings of democracies around the world.

Biden was generous in praising Ireland's humanitarian leadership on the global stage. The president applauded Ireland's efforts to shelter Ukrainian refugees: "What Ireland is doing now, what you're doing, taking Ukrainian refugees, speaks so loudly about your principles,"

When describing war-tornUkrainian, the US President, who is of Irish descent, quoted a line from ( Easter 1916 ) by Irish poet W. B. Yeats -

"All changed, changed utterly. A terrible beauty is born."
