Former US President Donald Trump is set to touch down in Co. Clare on his first visit to Ireland since 2019 when he returns to the 5-star Trump International Golf Links and Hotel this month..
The West Clare village of Doonbeg is rife with speculation about the proposed visit to his €8.7m resort in late August, and his security detail has been scoping the area on advance visits.
The resort has been busy with golfers travelling from the States and doing the circuit of top links courses in Ireland.
While controversy surrounds the FBI raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago home, the two to three-day Irish visit is still set to go ahead. We understand he may well be joined by his daughter Ivanka on this trip, and his sons Eric and Donald Jnr. frequent Doonbeg visitors, may also join him.
The businessman employs about 300 people at the 400-acre coastal resort in the summer, and locals have said that it will bring a bit of excitement for a few days before it's 'back to business.
