An unusual old flint and red-brick inn with a distinctly English air of eccentricity; the path to its front door has become a hallowed trail for foodies. With its warm welcome and roaring fire, this beautiful little gem offers a joyous breadth of menu plucked from the surrounding countryside.

The food has been described as "sheer perfection", reflecting the seasons, the setting and the superb craftsmanship of the kitchen. All this, and a snortingly good wine list too. The only difficulty with this alluring Inn is in leaving it.
