Property Overview

The world-renowned 18-hole championship course at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel™ Doonbeg spans 1.5 miles of crescent-shaped beach and century-old sand dunes along Doughmore Bay. The County Clare, Ireland golf course was officially opened in 2002 and immediately earned the prestigious title of Golf Digest's Best New International Course. In 2010, Trump International Doonbeg was awarded European Golf Resort of the Year by the IAGTO.

Offering views of the Atlantic from 16 of 18 holes, the newly redesigned golf course at Trump International Golf Links Ireland is a stunning sight to behold. The average time taken for a round of golf is four hours and thirty minutes. The par-72 layout features a single loop of nine holes out and nine back, playing 7,026 yards from the back tees. Designed with the philosophy of ‘least disturbance, the most natural route was taken in laying the course out through the sand dunes. As a result, the golf course in Ireland has an unusual combination of five par 3s and five par 5s. The speed and direction of the wind cause consistent daily variations in play. However, to help players perfect their game, golf instruction is available for both individuals and groups throughout the year with our resident golf professional.

Trump Doonbeg has been transformed by Dr Martin Hawtree into one of the 'must play' golf courses on the international circuit. He has allowed the character and soul of the land to flourish while enhancing the playability tenfold. Every hole has its own identity which will both reward and challenge each golfer.

We planned to stay here for 3 nights but loved it so much we stayed for 5.
We enjoyed the surrounding area visiting the Burren Ennis and of course played golf. The course is challenging but enjoyable.
We were upgraded to a room with sitting room and fully equipped small kitchen. Everything was spotlessly clean and bathroom had lovely toiletries and fluffy towels.TVs in both the bedroom and sitting room.Really comfy bed pillows and duvet.
We had an issue with the shower but this was fixed immediately and efficiently.
The gardens are really well tended and everything was in bloom during our visit.
Breakfast each morning was served in the restaurant overlooking the golf course and the beach which is only a short walk away.
The breakfast menu is varied and includes a fresh fish option each day.
We dined in Trumps bar each evening and although the menu didn’t change was varied enough that we didn’t have the same dish twice . The food was delicious.
However the big asset of this hotel is the staff. They really are fantastic .......anticipating your requirements before you have even thought of them .They really made our stay.
Michelle and Amanda at reception ,Keith ,Martin and your colleagues.Thank you all for making our visit so enjoyable.
We hope to return

"A GREAT STAY!!!"
Overall our stay exceeded our expectations. The hotel staff were very welcoming and hospitable upon arrival and throughout our stay. Our room in the courtyard was convenient and absolutely charming. The furnishings and bedding were very comfortable and made for a perfect respite after our long trip from the States. We stayed at other great hotels while in Ireland to include the Hayfield Manor in Cork as well as the Westbury in Dublin however the Trump International in Doonbeg is the hotel we will most likely return to. The golf course provided an exceptional experience. Having also played Ballybunion, Old Head and the Island Club in Dublin we found Trump Golf Links in Doonbeg to be our favorite. It had the best balance of conditioning, fairness and beauty of the four golf courses. Our afternoon pint of Guinness by the 18th green and evening walks on the beach have provided us with memories we will forever cherish. We look forward to our return.

"Just fantastic"
Our first visit to this property and golf course was absolutely outstanding. The accommodations were just fantastic. The service, the room, the restaurant and bar, and the golf course were all just top notch. We did have one little glitch, which I have to believe was an exception to this otherwise premium experience, and that was with housekeeping. We requested privacy in the morning, and for the room to be cleaned later. I requested in the afternoon again, and then a 3rd time as we went into dinner, this time saying we would be happy with just beds being made and toiletrie refreshment. We were shocked when we returned to the room 2 hours later and it still had not been touched. A small thing, but for an establishment with this kind of reputation, there is simply no excuse when there have been multiple requests. I would not let this experience affect my recommending this hotel to others, or coming back ourselves, as given the overall experience, this had to be an unusual occurrence. Golf was incredible. We lucked out with amazing weather, and had a wonderful fore-caddie named Peter. great links course.

"This Hotel is a MUST"
Please believe me! Any negative comments that are on this page are from the people the people that would complain about finding a winning lottery ticket on floor.

The grounds and views are unreal. Honestly the pictures don’t even do it justice.
The service level was outstanding. I tried tipping the guy that carried the bags to our room and they wouldn’t even take money.
The golf staff was outstanding and the links were incredible.

I fee blessed having stayed there. If I ever travel back to Ireland, I would 100 stay there again. Truly amazing.

"Great resort for a relaxing break"
Stayed here in mid April for a birthday treat. We were in the links cottages and found them superb. The US Masters Golf was on and we enjoyed watching it in the Trump bar. We found the staff very friendly and helpful without being pretentious or overbearing. We were blessed with beautiful weather too! The Pro Brian Shaw is a absolute gent and great fun!

"Southwest Ireland Golf Trip"
We stayed here the last three nights of our eight day trip. We had a two bedroom suite for four golfers. Accommodations were perfect. Excellent service. Room service was very quick. Views from the hotel restaurant and the golf shop restaurant were great. Overall the facility is what I would expect at a Trump property.
The golf course was fantastic. Views of the coast were beautiful. The course was in excellent condition. A very playable course. Patrick, my caddy, was very competent, helpful and pleasant.
Service at the hotel and golf course was excellent.
I thought the architecture was fine. It looked more like an Irish facility than Ballybunion and Lahinch. The grounds were well laid out.
