The Cliff House Weddings

Charm, Comfort and Luxury. We stayed here for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the first night being away from the kids and it was incredible. The hotel is ideal, you’re first captivated by the view and then immediately you’re greeted by friendly staff who can’t do enough for you. This was the same of everyone who worked in the hotel, from reception to the bar and spa. Our room, the Beach House, was perfect. Split across two floors, styled in a classic yet comfortable way with a huge bed and bathroom that overlooks the veranda out to sea. For dinner we ate in the bar, being served a wide choice of delicious food to stunning views. The spa and pool area are instantly relaxing. We booked a couple’s spa treatments which were wonderful. The whole stay was simply perfect, can’t wait to return.

"Super hotel in a spectacular location - highly recommend it"
We had been booked in for April to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary but Covid scuppered that so we rebooked for 5-7 August. Stayed in a lovely terrace suite with two small balconies and uninterrupted sea views, it was great watching the swimmers and kayakers directly below us. The huge bed was divinely comfortable with lovely linens and the bathroom was spacious with a lovely large tub and separate rainfall shower. The room was semi-divided by a wall with a fire in it (which we couldn't manage to get to work!) and a tv on either side for viewing from the bed or the sitting area. We ate in the Terrace bar the first night and it was fine, though the menu was quite short and the food a little uninspired and unexciting. The bottle of Albarino was spot on though! The second night we splurged on the 10 course tasting menu in House restaurant and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and the service was so good, every dish was explained to us by people who really seemed enthused to be working there. Kudos to the chef/s for their creativity with locally sourced and foraged produce. Breakfasts were fab also, beautifully cooked and presented and with efficient and friendly service to match and to sit at a window table in the morning with those views was so relaxing. We did have a few minor niggles during our stay but when pointed out these were dealt with well, and when I communicated afterwards with the General Manager he was so receptive and welcoming of my comments and genuinely took them onboard with a view to making improvements where necessary. I was highly impressed. Overall our stay was really lovely and relaxing and comfortable and we would love to go back again - oh yes the swimming pool is not large but really nice and immaculately clean, the rails etc being sanitised regularly, water samples being taken, and booking time slots to use it was easy and meant very few people were in the pool at the same time which was a bonus! Thanks to everyone who helped make our stay so enjoyable and to the great guys working the door/doing the valet parking - they were so efficient and helpful and friendly and a great asset to the hotel to have them welcome you on arrival.

"20th Anniversary, arriving by sailing boat"
For our 20th wedding anniversary my wife and I decided to sail to the Cliff House, arriving around lunchtime and tying the boat to the private mooring. We than had a swim off the boat and then rowed ashore to check in. We had a lovely suite looking right out at our boat. Given Covid restrictions we had to reserve a half hour slot at the pool, but this meant that we had the pool to ourselves. The food in the bar (the restaurant was not yet open) was fantastic. Arrival by sea, a room with a view of the boat and the magical little cove under the hotel made for a very memorable stay!

"Fantastic experience"
We have just returned from our weekend at the cliff house to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Our suite was beautiful and was serviced excellently during our stay.

We ate in the bar on friday and our meal was excellent accompanied by beautiful cocktails. We got a lovely seat at the window and were able to watch the sun go down as we ate.

Breakfast the next morning was delicious. All staff were very pleasant at all times. We relaxed in the library in the afternoon with a good book and a g&t. Would loved to have tried the spa but unfortunately they were fully booked by the time I decided to book something so maybe next time !!

Dinner Saturday night in the restaurant was visually amazing. Unfortunately none of the starters were to my taste...when I mentioned it to the server he did not offer something from the bar menu which I was hoping for. There was a wild mushroom on brioche starter I would love to have tried but I didn't feel like it would go down well if I asked for it. He suggested i just try the beetroot which I did but unfortunately I just didn't like it...it looked lovely thou. The beef was very nice and chocolate dessert was also nice.

Overall a beautiful place to stay. Ardmore is very picturesque. I'm glad I got to stay here at least once.

"Amazing Wedding venue"
We had an amazing 3 day stay in The Cliffhouse in August for our wedding. As it was a small wedding we wanted somewhere with great food, great service and excellent facilities. Boy, did it deliver! From the moment we arrived on the Wednesday until checking out on the Saturday we were so well looked after, as were our guests. The staff were so attentive without being overbearing and the wedding meal in the restaurant was one of the best meals I've ever had. We have already booked our return weekend for 2020!

Super stay
One night here for our wedding anniversary and it was amazing we got a lively bottle of leased as a gift from hotel a lovely treat room was perfect evening meal super in the house rest staff top class breakfast pretty amazing
Thanks for everything cliff hotel we had a fantastic night away so relaxed after my night away
