The Cliff House Weddings: Waterford

As Ireland’s only luxury five-star hotel on the sea, The Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore is among the most picturesque venues for a wedding in Ireland.

Reception settings include the North Pavilion - a private space with balcony and courtyard. In summer, the Bar is ideal, for it opens out on to a wide terrace overhanging the sea making for a memorable al fresco venue.

The Chef’s Table, seating 18 at a 7m-long American oak table or 40 with additional tables, is a grand space winter or summer. The House Restaurant, with Champagne velvets punctuated with Hermes oranges and natural Irish tweeds, is also sea-facing. It can be interconnected with The Chef’s Table to create an even larger space for seated receptions of up to 80 people.

"A Five Star Experience" Hi, Just returned from The Cliff House Hotel. It was our wedding anniversary and we chose the Cliff House, as it was close, but we had never stayed before. From check in to check out we were delighted with the service. Our room ( Room 35 ) was very well appointed with glorious views out over the sea. The attention to detail was evident everywhere in the hotel and everything possible was done to make our stay as enjoyable and memorable as possible, (down to the Card, Much appreciated ) It may be a little on the expensive side but we would regard it as worth it. Breakfast was one of the best we have had in a long time,....and that's saying something... Staff were genuinely friendly, even the ones you passed in the corridors... I don't have all the names but the Room Service girls, the Breakfast staff, Bar staff, all great people, but I suspect you already know this already!! The clever building method means that you are guaranteed a beautiful sea view without seeing any fellow guests We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will be back, hopefully in the not to distant future.

"Well worth the wait" Have wanted to visit for some time however it is popular and a bit too far from North Cork to come for dinner. We booked one night with a balcony suite and double balcony room as that was the only way to have the two of us and our two teenage sons in adjoining (connected) rooms. The suite was large, comfortable and luxurious. Just wish hotels that have lovely baths of this calibre would leave bubble bath or similar as a treat. Two afternoon spa massage treatments were great. Though were disappointed that they said we couldn’t have a couples treatment when we booked and the room brochure advertised that couples treatments could be arranged. We had dinner at the Bar Restaurant which we booked in advance as we knew our boys would not be crazy for the Easter Chocolate tasting menu in the main restaurant. Main courses of Monkfish, Cod and Sirloin were all perfect. Breakfast was delicious with freshly squeezed juices, hot coffee, yoghurt & fruit, hot selections such as waffles, full Irish as well as a tiered tray of baked goodies. We went for a cliff walk for a few kilometers and finished with a swim in their very special pool with a sea view. The staff were very attentive the entire visit and we will visit again. Two small things went wrong: I had let the reservation team know that it was our 21st wedding anniversary and they offered to arrange something small - which didn’t happen. And on checking out, after paying I realized that the room charge was higher by over €200 than when booked. An easy credit but shouldn’t have happened.

"Cliff House Luxury" The architects that designed this hotel are to be commended. Every room has a view of the sea and what amazing views they are. The hotel has a very private and intimate feel to it. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the restaurant four course with matching wines amazing.
