Built in the 19th century, it features a wine cellar encased in a cistern of carved rock and an ancient fireplace made of sculptured Lecce stone.

The surrounding land is flecked with fig trees, vineyards and prickly pears to give this home its quintessential Mediterranean feel. As you make your way through the garden – brimming with laurel, oleander and rosemary – you’ll come across a centuries-old walnut tree encircled by four chestnut tables, perfect for sharing Italian wine with friends and family. Why not take a cool dip in the swimming pool – equipped with hydromassage seats and a jet neck massage system – or wade in the swimming pond with your favourite tipple in hand?

If you’re craving a bit of a change from lazy-day living, why not visit the vibrant city of Lecce? This city exudes Roman history, which can be seen by visiting any number of historical sites, like the Teatro Romano. If sandy beaches are more your style, Marina di Pescoluse, which straddles the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, is a short drive from the property.
