Area Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
Region Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

We had a fantastic time in Villa 8, Estura, Salcombe.. Very well equipped and comfortable property. Only downside was that there's not enough seating in the living area for 8 people. We moved the 2 bedroom armchairs up to the living area so that everyone had somewhere to sit in the evenings when we all gathered together to relax. Outstanding views from the estuary facing rooms and a very peaceful, tranquil location. We were very lucky with the weather but to be honest, Salcombe is beautiful no matter what's happening outside. The Coast and Country offices were also very helpful when we had a small issue with a smoke alarm (we burned the toast!).
