Sleep beneath the original trulli cones and enjoy a unique taste of Puglia's history and tradition when you stay at this lovely, carefully restored home in the heart of the countryside. Encircled by stone walls and ancient olive trees, we think this is a magical retreat for a couple or a small family. Spend idyllic days lounging by the pool and admiring the verdant views. Grill some squid on the barbecue and enjoy with a glass of local wine, or use the rice cooker in the charming kitchen to whip up some dinner.

If you fancy a day by the sea, the pretty port town of Savelletri, with its beaches and excellent dining options, is just over twenty minutes in the car, while Capitolo Beach is 6 miles away. Or, explore the historic town of Alberobello, a ten-minute drive and visit the Museo del Territorio Casa Pezzolla, which recreates a bygone life in a trulli.
