This home, crowned by a backdrop of mountains, is ideal for group getaways to La Quinta. Surrounded by the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the famous Coachella Valley, and the iconic Joshua Tree, it's a gateway to hiking trails and golf courses. And as if in reply to the landscape, the interior focuses on muted, natural colours with quirky elements adding interest. Outside is where the magic happens, surrounded by panoramic views, a private swimming pool, grill, shaded table, basketball hoop and a play area for the little ones. We also love the additional casita with a kitchenette where a grandparent or moody teen can find a little more privacy.

Home truths:
*We suggest hiring a car for ease – there's a garage for one car and additional on-street parking.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
*One of the bedrooms is separate and can only be accessed externally. Curtains in some rooms are lacking here. If you're hoping to sleep in, you might want to pack an eye mask.
*This is a single-level home.
*The swimming pool is fenced and can also be covered.
*The primary renter has to be over the age of 30.
*Your host asks that you respect quiet hours between 10pm and 7am.
*Gardening and pool maintenance are included, so you'll occasionally see staff on the property.
