A wonderful stay as always at the Coach House. A comfortable, spacious and well equipped house with fantastic views in beautiful surroundings. This was our 5th year staying at this location and we have never encountered any negative issues of any concern. There is a slight problem with damp on one wall this year that did not detract from the quality of our stay. The owners have repairs to this wall in hand. The WiFi has always worked and we have only seen the dog from the lounge window in the owner's garden. We have not experienced the issues others have raised and the comments in the Coach House visitor's book are all very positive. We would definitely recommend this property to others and have already booked our return visit for September next year.

Mis-sold as “Covid clean” 5* accommodation. This is not 5* accommodation and is very definitely not Covid clean.
As per prior review, the property has not been cleaned or maintained. The bathroom is a health-hazard with black mouldy grout in the shower, prior residents hairs, and old tooth brush, a rusty radiator. The list goes on. The kitchen is just revolting. The oven is greasy and the door has clearly not been cleaned for a long while. The bread bin contained crumbs as did the cutlery drawer. There is no internet, it doesn’t work! The property does not allow dogs, however the owner’s dog twice used the garden as a toilet and came into the house when the back door was open.
We booked this through Sykes cottages who were totally unhelpful despite us phoning and complaining within an hour of arriving and sending photographic evidence of the problems (of which there are too many to mention here).
Do not stay here, do not book this cottage and don’t expect Sykes to do anything to remediate any concerns/problems.

The property had not been fully re-cleaned following lockdown it was dirty. Dust was visible, rusting on the radiator, chipped furniture, threadbare carpet. My poor 5 year old daughter had bites from the bedding not fresh.

A fabulous unique property with stunning views and sunsets over the Needles. We loved the comfy beds, hot powerful shower, open fires in the evening, BBQ-ing in the garden. The perfect base to explore the West of the Isle of Wight.

We had a wonderful week in the Coach House. The views from the lounge are stunning and the beds are exceedingly comfortable. Minor issues included no lock on the bathroom door and bath mats are not provided but that was easily sorted. If you have even minor mobility problems take care when walking from the parking area to the house after dark as the outside light is poor. The entrance gates also require some negotiation if you are short and have the afore mentioned mobility problems. If you have children who are scared of dogs, the owners' dogs bark a lot but create no problems as they are kept on the other side of the fence. We would love to go back.

Spacious property with high ceilings and light decor. Central heating was a bonus as it was October, plus the benefit of an open fire. Lovely view from the first floor lounge (whilst sitting down) and from the kitchen when preparing food. Walks were possible from the door, and places of interest were only a short drive. Good 'pub grub' at the Wight Mouse only a walk away.

Beautiful views, very well appointed with lovely décor. The open fire was great and had the best shower ever. Pub with good food and atmosphere a short walk down the hill. There was parking next to property. Best thing I can say is that we would go back!

Chale House is a perfect cottage in a perfect location. On the main road from Ventnor to The Needles, and a one minute walk to the fascinating Black Gang Chine (the chine is fascinating, we didn't visit the theme park) and the cottage is on gated private land which feels very safe. The owners were so friendly and the caretaker so willing to chat and full of local info. The cottage had everything, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with all you need and the sunsets over the sea from the living room window each night were magical and when it's clear you can just see The Needles in the distance. We loved the Isle of Wight and can't wait to return, it's so beautiful and the natural formations just take your breath away (eg Alum Bay, the Chines etc). Chale House was the most we'd paid so far for a cottage holiday (we've been on 12), but we agree it was definatley worth every penny!

The Coach House is a lovely holiday cottage which has everything you could possibly want internally and externally. The views of the sea, coastline and landscape are amazing and watching the sunset each night from the lounge is a real treat. The Coach House is situated in an ideal place for easily picking up a road to get to wherever you want on the island.

Well equipped cottage in a fabulous rural setting with spectacular views, particularly from the special upstairs sitting room. Kitchen/dining area was stylish as well as practical so we enjoyed it as a social dining room. It was a great home from home to explore the island.

A fabulous property finished to the highest standard and very well equipped. The staff at Sykes were very quick to respond to a query and make sure everything went smoothly. I'm impressed with both Sykes and the Coach House. Thank you!
