This is an eclectic home where nothing is in excess. Think white, minimal, functional, but with a few key details that add character in the right places – the wood slice tables in the master bedroom, a white wicker chair in the living room, or the ornate table in the bathroom. Just like its residential surroundings, this home is calm and relaxed, best suited for those who want to take it easy and enjoy Madrid without the noise.

Home truths:
* When we visited, the balconettes were not in the best condition and could definitely use some love
* The second bedroom is quite small and doesn't have much storage space
* There is no air conditioning in the bedrooms
* We found the blinds in every toom difficult to open and close – you might have to tie them manually to keep them in place
* The kitchen is quite small – it might be hard for more than one person to cook there at once
