Location
North Molton is a village in North Devon and sits just outside the boundary of Exmoor National Park. Until the 18th century the village was an important centre of the woollen industry, and mining was also a significant employer in the parish until the 19th century.

North Molton has a village pub with excellent food and is dog friendly. Please support our local traders.

Exmoor provides a great base for walking, cycling and exploring. There are miles of walking routes and many pretty villages to sightsee. There are also opportunities to ride, to play golf at the famous Saunton Sands Golf Course or to visit a number of outstanding gardens such as those at Marwood, Castle Hill Estate and RHS Rosemoor. North Molton is within easy reach of the famous Tarr Steps, The Chains - a wonderful place for the experienced walker, the Tarka Trail, the North Devon coastal path. The north coast from Minehead through Porlock and Lynton to Woody Bay and the Valley of the Rocks are some of the most stunning scenery in Britain boasting the highest cliffs. The beaches at Saunton and Croyde are not far away (approx 45 mins by car).

South Molton, the nearest town, is just 3 miles away and has a local market on Thursday and a farmers market on Saturday. Barnstaple, North Devon’s main market town, with its famous Pannier Market and Butchers Row – excellent for both meat and locally caught fish, is within easy reach and offers a range of shopping facilities and other activities.
