With an impressive selection of museums, theatres, cinemas, and restaurants all close by, it's easy to see why this sunny home in the heart of Lisbon is so popular. As it's on the sixth floor with beautiful big windows, it does get a little toasty in the summer months. But the view from the open-plan living room overlooking the Tagus River below is truly breathtaking. We loved the Brigitte Bardot portrait and sporadic placement of bright prints and sculptures.
Home truths: *Although there's a lift to take you to the sixth floor, there's no step-free access for wheelchair users
*Whilst some will appreciate the laminate flooring and the glitzy décor, it may not be to everyone's taste
*We're admittedly quite a picky bunch but the bedding is not as luxurious as we would want it to be
*To stay cool during the hot summer months, the air conditioning unit has to be turned on constantly – the floor to ceiling windows absorb an uncomfortable amount of heat
*There is only one proper bedroom so guests three and four would be on the sofa-bed in the living room
