This home's location close to the Canal Saint-Martin quarter may not be as central but it's ideal for family strolls by the canal on warm days. Boasting charming lived-in spaces with period features and a modern decor, there are also lots of entertainment options here. With two children's bedrooms with a trundle bed each, it allows for plenty of flexibility and makes a great match for a young family. Our favourite room? Its modern kitchen-diner without doubt – not only is it well-equipped but it's a light-filled sociable space for cooking and sharing family meals.

* Two of the bedrooms are better suited to children given the decor – each of these has a trundle bed which can be set up on request

* Your host's dog usually lives in the home so those with allergies should stay elsewhere

* The living room overlooks Boulevard Raspail so you should expect some traffic noise, particularly with the windows open

* There is a lift to access the home in the 3rd floor but it's on the compact side so you'll have to do a few trips when arriving with luggage

* There is no air conditioning in this home
