Sonnet 98: Lisbon

There’s little more you could want in terms of location here. This apartment is just a stone’s throw from the Santa Justa Lift, a seven-minute dander from the beautiful ruins of Convento do Carmo and a two-minute walk from Rossio Square where the station can whisk you away to Mafra or Sintra for the day. That’s not to mention the bakeries, cafés and restaurants in the surrounding streets (pick up a custard tart at Fabrica de Nata, 70 metres away).

Inside, you’ve got all the charm of old Lisbon, with traditional windows letting in plenty of natural light and pretty azulejo tiles adorning the walls of every room. Faux fur throws on raw wood chairs add a bit of boho-luxe and the living room suite is a soothing medley of fawn and slate. The kitchenette has everything you need for a quick meal, but you may not get around to using it with all the dining options on your doorstep.
