It’s a bit of a cliche (not to mention a cop-out) to say that location is everything, but sometimes it’s good enough that we have to lead with it. Snapdragon is on Rua Augusta, the central street in Baixa, which is bookended by Praça Dom Pedro IV and the victory arch at the entrance to Praça do Comércio. While it can’t quite match its position, the interior of the flat is not a disappointment either. It’s done up nicely, and while it’s not without flaws, some of the vintage furniture is really nice.
Home truths: *The home is centrally located and the old windows have single glazing so you may hear some street noise at night.
*We found some permanent stains in the quartz kitchen sink.
*The shower is only 190cm – fine for most, but very tall people might have to duck slightly.
*One person can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room, but if five people are here at once, one of them won't fit at the dining table.
*You won't find a welcome hamper or basic essentials here, so we'd recommend packing some bits and bobs to get you started.
*As seen in the photos, there is no handrail to get in and out of the bathtub.
