Perched on the hillside on the Sicilian coast, the view from this home’s terrace is simply sublime. Light stone surrounds the lagoon-shaped swimming pool which invites you for a cooling dip in the heat of the Sicilian sun and, wending your way around the terraced gardens, you’ll find a ping pong table, outdoor dining area and summer kitchen for days spent alfresco, all with a sea view. It’s a leisurely walk into the pretty coastal village of Scopello for pizzerias, seafront bars and a calm bay for swimming in the sea.

Inside, the villa feels beachy and traditional at the same time with wooden ceilings, crisp white walls and splashes of ocean blue. The table by the glass double doors offers a coastal panorama for long, leisurely breakfasts and the nautical theme of the decor is a reminder of your oceanfront location. The entire living area is open, thanks to an archway at the centre, making the kitchen, living and dining areas feel spacious and breezy. Bedrooms, with their splashes of artwork on the walls and cute wooden-shuttered windows, are a delight to retire to come bedtime.

*It's around a twenty-minute walk along a winding stony track to the restaurants and grocery shops of Scopello, so having a car here is a good idea
*There is private parking at this home but it is accessed via a bumpy gravel drive
*This home is all on one level so may be suitable for those with limited mobility
*The swimming pool isn't fenced, so children will need to be supervised at all times
*Though there isn't a dedicated desk here, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace
