Although Rocky Mountain was built with functionality in mind, it earned a place in our collection thanks to a gorgeous shell and an unbeatable location. You'll never be bored in Baixa – there are simply too many shops, cafes, and sights to explore. This home relies on soft textures and gentle colours to express its character, with minimal decoration and high-quality materials. We loved the view over a typical Lisbon street, perfect for people watching.

Home truths:
* When we visited, there was some visible wear and tear, as well as scuff marks on the walls
* The WiFi is quite patchy – this might not be the best option for those who want to work during their stay
* The kitchen isn't well equipped and it would be hard to cook an elaborate meal here
* We also spotted some grout in the bathroom
* This home can sleep a maximum of four guests, but the last two will need to settle for the sofa bed
