The park was founded by Charles I in the 17th century as a deer park, or go for a stroll along the meandering Thames River. The centre of Richmond, with its boutiques, bars and restaurants, is under a ten-minute walk. If you want to explore the capital further, Richmond train station has fast overland services to London Waterloo and Clapham Junction.
