Shuttered windows, balconies with ornate wrought iron railings and eye-catching frescoes painted on vaulted ceilings give way to vintage-inspired modern furniture, a comfortable bed and a magnificent walk-in shower.

The location is hard to top, with the stark white walls of Ostuni's old town lying in wait just outside the front door. Step out to discover its winding backstreets, neighbourhood haunts and historical monuments – all within a five-to-ten-minute walk.

Beyond the city limits, the coast is little more than 10km away – ideal for those who want to spend a day or two catching some rays on the beach and dipping their toes in the deep blue hues of the Adriatic. Elsewhere, the Valle d'Itria (25km) is liberally sprinkled with wineries – the route lined with breathtaking towns and villages.
