On summer afternoons, splash in the heated pool (complete with whirlpool settings) or lounge by the water with a chilled beverage and a good book. When you grow peckish, nibble on the fresh fruit left for you in the welcome hamper, or whip up something more substantial in the kitchen – it has everything you'll need for cooking. Come evening, watch the sun go down from your poolside perch, a glass of your host's homemade wine in hand.

Situated on the southeastern coast of Santorini, Kamari is a bustling village with a laid-back atmosphere. Famous for its open-air cinema just a few minutes away, days here are typically spent sprawled out on Kamari Beach (a thirteen-minute walk) or wandering along the cafe-lined promenade. There are plenty of seaside restaurants and local tavernas to discover, but if you fancy a walk, trek up the rocky cliffs to the top of Mesa Vouno and explore the chalky ruins of Ancient Thira – trust us, the climb is worth it for the views.
