"Perfect Birthday Break" My husband treated me to a 3 night stay in the Scrabo room for my 40th birthday recently and we could not have asked for a more perfect setting. It has been said in many reviews before, just how gorgeous Peartree Hill is and this is what made us choose to come here. Avril is a fantastic host, warm and welcoming with a fantastic knowledge of the area. We took her advice in relation to where to go for an evening meal and also a drive out around Strangford Lough and neither disappointed. In fact the drive around the Lough perfectly capped off our wonderful break. The room is so beautiful with gorgeous thick carpet, sofa to relax and take in the view, and a very comfortable bed to climb into at the end of the day. We chose to breakfast in our room each morning which sadly meant that we didn’t get to meet Ian (sorry Ian!) but his presence was still felt with the amazing rhubarb compote! The breakfasts were simply the best we have ever tasted and we have used a fair amount of B&B’s over the year, with some exceptional breakfasts provided, Peartree Hill trumps them all. I would highly recommend the locally smoked salmon and bagel, and my husbands favourite was the pancakes and bacon. We definitely hope to return to Peartree Hill and see more of the surrounding countryside and would recommend without hesitation (in fact I’m already trying to convince my dad to visit!) Thank you Avril and Ian for helping to make my birthday amazing (and also for my birthday card) xx

"Excellent Place with Excellent Hospitality" Pear Tree is a wonderful find. One of the best places I've ever stayed at. Set in the countryside but actually only a very short drive from Belfast; very convenient for the City Airport and City Centre and main road links. We stayed for 2 nights but would happily have stayed for much longer if we’d had the time. The whole place is stylish, tidy and clean. An exquisite bathroom (with underfloor heating), dressing gowns, slippers, smart TV, Wi-Fi that works, Nespresso machine (and selection of pods), fridge (topped up with water and milk), comfy mattress and deep pile carpet. On arrival we were greeted by Avril, who gave us a tour of the room and features. Then offered tea and coffee and cakes in the lounge upstairs which has a large full wall window overlooking the rolling scenery to the West, a great way to relax after a journey. Avril was also more than happy to provide advice and a map. Breakfast is home cooked with a great choice and ordered before 8 the night before. I’ve eaten a lot of hotel breakfasts but never have I had such a wonderful Eggs Benedict as I did here. So I had it both mornings. I believe Ian deserves credit for these (I’d be more than happy for evening meals to provided based on the quality of the food). Breakfast can be served in your room or on the mezzanine; again with an open side glass wall to let the light flood in and enjoy the countryside view. Fortunately on this occasion we were without children and the accommodation is for adults and would suit a base for exploring Northern Ireland, or for business (given the quick drive into Belfast) or just a romantic break. Parking is no issue as there are only a small number of rooms. Overall an exceptional place to stay where the hospitality matches the quality of the accommodation and we hope to return one day.

"Can this place do no wrong?" My wife and I stayed at peartree hill on our wedding night.
This location was ideal. It felt more pesonal than a hotel but with the quality of finish in the room, Easily on a par with any 4 or 5 star hotel we have stayed at across europe. The breakfast was to a high standard indeed.
Avril was attentive and very good to communicate with and made the stay that little bit special.
Peartree is a little more rural so best suited to those who drive. Do pay attention to the location as there are 2 peartree hill roads. Avril has the location well described on her site though.
Would highly recommend.

"Amazing place" Although I’m home already but I still keep thinking about this home that I’ve stayed during my trip in Belfast. Everything is just perfect on my stay in Pear tree hill. Bed, room, breakfast are great and not to forget to mention about the friendly host. Can’t complain about it at all and all I wish is to get back there for a longer stay.
