"Football stay"
Stayed here a good few years ago and hotel still as good now as it was. Great staff from check in, bar and tony at breakfast. He even went to the trouble of getting chef to make french toast for me which is no longer on the menu. Would definitely return and definitely recommend. Very comfy bed (only slight downside was pillows to firm for me ) but wouldn’t mark them down as still slept like a log. Room spotless

Lovely staff
I have visited the hotel before however the service I received on my recent visit in july was outstanding (especially with it being a busy Saturday night) the attentiveness of our waitress Rachel not only to us as a table but our two young children who were completely smitten by her and her enthusiastic personality.

Rachel and the girl running the Restaurant ( we didn't pick up her name however assume she was the manager/supervisor) were both incredible, the pair have a good bond which showed in their communication and witty humour with customers. This really created a nice atmosphere in the Restaurant.

One fault would be the lobby area , after eating our meal we attempted to sit in the lobby however many of the tables were dirty or in use (assuming there was a wedding) although as it was a busy night we attended we overlooked this.

I've seen a few negative reviews about the hotel itself but I feel it's important to acknowledge the staff that add the personal touch to the place, will definitely be returning.

"Good quality accommodation at a fair price"
However the interior of the ensuite facility was a little tired - a crack appeared on the base of the shower tray which then leaked into the downstairs bar area ceiling. This only came to light when the staff came to check out where the water was coming from. The maintenance guy then tried to fix it while we were still in the room which was a little unnecessary as we were due to leave. The food and service in the restaurant was good.

"Excellent hotel"
Stayed there as part of a bowling group. Rooms are lovely - but they love their heat - had to leave the windows open at night just to keep it down. Great shower and beds very comfortable. Only had breakfast in it - not dinner. First morning was cooked fresh and was lovely but slow. Second morning was buffet and was cold.
Staff were friendly and efficient. They close the bar early if there is less than ten people in it - despite knowing that there was a large group out for food and coming back. Meant we had to sit in the lobby and get table service from about 11pm - not the cleverest option. That said the service in the lobby was great.
Location is walking distance from some fine restaurants and bars
Overall a lovely hotel and recommended.
