On The Surf: Catalonia

Just in front of Port Vell and the Central Post Office on Via Laietana, On The Surf looks out past Lichtenstein’s sculpture and along Barcelona’s seafront. It’s a magnificent building, and much of the structure is retained inside the flat. The furnishings and decoration don’t really live up to the promise of the building and the location, but that’s not really saying much. It’s clean and comfortable inside, and you’ll be spending so much time outside that that’s what really matters.

*When you arrive, there are three doors and it can be a bit confusing, so make sure you check with Mafe before you arrive
*There's nothing in the way of kitchen ingredients
*Unfortunately, the fireplace is decorative rather than functional
*The design is a little bare in places, particularly the bedrooms
* The rooftop pool and terrace are shared between the whole building
