Not far from the pretty town of Pollensa (two kilometres away), this quirky little farmhouse is an ideal country bolthole, surrounded by Mallorca’s rugged mountains. As well as the inviting swimming pool, the outdoor kitchen caught our eye, with its wood-fired grill for farmhouse-style lunches. The suntrap first-floor terrace provides a view over orchards and olive groves as you dine. This old farmhouse opens up to the sunshine with a wall of glass between the living room and loggia. Apart from the suspended glass dining table and sleek kitchen, it’s a vision of the old world with low wood-beamed ceilings and cooling tiled floors underfoot.

*All of the bedrooms are upstairs, so this home may not suit those with limited mobility
*There's an unfenced pond and swimming pool in the garden here, so children will need to be supervised at all times
*Your host can provide a complimentary cot and high chair – this must be requested at the time of booking, and you’ll need to bring your own cot linen
*As the town is 2km away, having a car is recommended – there is private parking
*There are energy-saving measures in place and air conditioning times are limited
*Though there isn't a dedicated desk here, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace
