Area
Strensall is a satellite village to the north of York with great connections into the city proper. Pubs, shops, a hair salon, a bakery, and even a fish and chip shop can all be found in this welcoming village. In addition to the nearby options, there is a village park and an excellent golf course. Strensall Common Nature Reserve is a conservation area with heathland and a fantastic variety of wildlife, such as birds, common lizards, and adders, located just outside the village. There are plenty of places to go walking and cycling in the nearby countryside, including some beautiful paths that follow the river right into the heart of York. Get in the car and drive to North York Moors National Park, where you'll find Dalby Forest, a gorgeous location for a family outing with walking and biking trails and a Go Ape centre woven throughout the forest. Just a short drive away, the picturesque market town of Knaresborough welcomes visitors to its bustling market square and quaint, friendly pubs, cafés, and shops that line the River Nidd. Enjoy an ice cream and a row boat rental in the summer, or take a stroll along the river and stop at Knaresborough Castle and Mother Shipton's Cave. This beautiful part of Yorkshire is a great vacation spot any time of year thanks to its convenient location and abundance of attractions.
