"The perfect country home"
We have just concluded a month’s stay and I only wish we didn’t have to leave. We had a household full of children and grandchildren for the two middle weeks, sandwiched between two weeks with old friends. Different vibes with the different groups but each in its own way just right. The house couldn’t be more comfortable and attractive. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished and the large, eat-in kitchen is fully equipped. The only problem with the beds was no-one ever wanted to get up in the morning. The house is conveniently located for day trips to such sights as the Cliffs of Moher, the Rock of Cashel, Blarney, Adare, even places further afield. The kids were mesmerized by the cattle and the grownups charmed by the sight of them in the farm’s fields. The Ballyhoura mountains in the distance are lovely to look at particularly as the sun is going down in the evening. I’m saving the best for last: Imelda Sheedy King, our landlord, our hostess and, now, our friend is not only the most gracious woman in all Ireland she is also one of it’s finest chefs and we were lucky enough to be treated on occasion to a few of her creations, which were a welcome treat after our more pedestrian cooking.
