Accommodation
This is a beautiful architect designed three-bedroom property situated on the eastern shore of Lough Corrib at the end of a quiet lane accessing Ballycurrin Bay, a renowned trout fishing spot. Built in 1970 the house has maple flooring and pirana pine beamed ceilings throughout it's 3 reception rooms. The house has all mod cons, satellite and TV & DVD player and a Slate Bed Pool Table.
In summer there is safe swimming in the lake, walking, fishing (row boat and rods incl.) or just relax on the large wrap-around patio. For winter months enjoy sitting by a homely fire in front of the loverly big limestone fireplace, read a book, play pool, snooker and darts or just sit and admire the beautiful views.
The house has a large enclosed garden (over 1/2 acre) and plenty of space to play. The Row Boat is available to all guests from March to October and life jackets are also available. Ballycurrin Bay, where the house is situated, is a renowned trout fishing spot. It is perfectly safe to swim in the lake beside the house. If you are interested in weather watching there is also a sophisticated weather station installed monitoring rainfall, wind, barometric pressure and temperature!
We absolutely loved our week in this wonderful house in a stunning location. Wonderful views across the lake in both good and wild weather, and incredibly quiet and peaceful. We loved rowing on the lake and swimming every day, and trips to drive and walk in beatiful Connemara. The house is really well equipped with every thing you could need and the beds very comfy. Highly recommended and we hope to come back.

A pool table and your own rowing boat are hard to beat. The beds are gorgeous. We felt very comfortable from the first moment. The spacious rooms have also given each of us the opportunity to retreat to our private corner. It was difficult to say goodbye.

"Absolute Bliss" We had a fantastic stay!. The house lacks nothing. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable and spacious areas for relaxing and big bedrooms. The outdoor space is ideal for watching the sun setting across Lough Corrib over Connemara. There is lots to do within easy reach - from historic Cong village and Ashford Castle to Galway City and onwards to Connemara. We did a fantastic drive to Killary Fjord and the scenery all the way there and back was stunning. The house is very well maintained with friendly, helpful owners and I recommend it for anyone who wants to chill out for a week or more or use it as a base to explore the wonderful west of Ireland.

"Spectacular Getaway" An incredible getaway to a fantastic lodge, yards from the Lough Corrib shoreline with a great little spot for swimming just outside the house. Would highly recommend for families of all ages; there are ample things to do even on a rainy day and we especially enjoyed the pool table in the evenings. We will most definitely be back.

"Fantastic Tranquil Incredibly Beautiful" The Lodge is set on the border of Galway and Mayo on Lough Corrib. It has its own pier and rowing boat. 4 big double bedrooms, TV with multiple channels, pool table, books, games lots to occupy you if it rains. Big garden with BBQ, patio table & chairs to enjoy the outdoors. We enjoyed the morning sunshine with our coffee and toast, listening to Lyric FM, “Marty in the Morning”, looking across the lake watching people in canoes. Such peace and wellbeing. Ideal location for touring West Ireland. Cong Village a few miles away, where “The Quiet Man” was made, with Ashford Castle, is a romantic spot. Through the Maumturk Mountains on to Leenane and Killary Fjord (Ireland's only fjord) south brings to Kylemore Abbey, Letterfrack and Clifden, back to Galway from here and onto Headford to complete the loop. Every part of Connemara is a full day outing. Stunning. Way too much to describe. Rent this lodge and experience it for yourself. Read the Visitors book. Visitors from all corners of the globe have been here. Not a single negative comment. We could not have been happier. 5 Big Stars.
