Tucked away in the quaint town of Ses Salines, in one of the remotest corners of the island, this breathtaking home is a real hidden gem. The interior is absolutely impeccable, and you can instantly tell that a lot of time and effort has gone into creating a unique space. Your hosts have been inspired by the Japanese design principles of simplicity and stillness to devise a home that is equal parts beauty and function.

On the ground floor, the open-plan living space and kitchen is lined with large canvasses, stylish mid-century furniture and a statement steel staircase. At the far end, large bifold doors lead out to one of the two outdoor spaces. Your hosts have decided to continue to floor tiles from inside to out, so with the doors open, you're free to enjoy a seamless experience as you flit between the kitchen and outdoor dining table.

Two spacious bedrooms benefit from direct access to the terraces on their respective floors. The vast first-floor bedroom even finds room for a private seating area around the wood-burning stove – perfect for atmospheric evenings outside of the warmer months.

The icing on the cake is undoubtedly the indoor sauna and yoga room, making for an energising start or relaxing end to any day.

We'd suggest you spend your days exploring everything the southern half of the island has to offer, including scenic morning hikes and some of the most incredible beaches in the Balearics – all within a ten-to-twenty-minute drive. If you fancy a change of scenery, the culinary and cultural capital of Palma is 50km away. Your hosts' restaurant, Bodega Barahona, serves up Mallorquin specialities just 300m down the road.
