House in North Wales: Gwynedd

Set on the edge of the picturesque coastal village of Aberdyfi (also known as Aberdovey), this elegant and welcoming townhouse offers a fantastic retreat for groups of friends and larger families exploring the beautiful southern reaches of the spectacular Snowdonia National Park. Lying along the northern bank of the River Dyfi, this fantastic property is just half a mile from the heart of the village, where you will find a variety of great restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops, a championship golf course, some lovely pastel coloured buildings and a glorious golden sandy beach which stretches for miles. There s also an old Roman Road to follow and a picturesque Picnic Island. A range of local activities includes sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and fishing. A couple of steps lead up and into this refreshing and inviting property. The Victorian tiled hallway leads through to the open plan kitchen/diner with oak flooring. This spacious and elegantly designed room is perfect for preparing and sharing all your favourite family meals. The kitchen is equipped with a double electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer, while the dining area benefits from a TV, stylish dining table, a warming wood burner, and additional sofas to relax in afterwards. There s also a ground floor utility room with a washer/dryer and a shower room with WC. Stairs lead up to the first floor where you will find the pretty lounge. With a large window seat, bay windows, comfortable sofas, smart TV, DVD, iPod dock and a coal effect gas fire, this is a wonderful space for everyone to settle back, enjoy a film or chat into the night. The first floor is also home to a family bathroom with shower over the bath and a WC, and the first of the property s attractively decorated bedrooms, a twin room to the rear of the house all with plenty of storage space. Going up a second flight of stairs, there are two more warm and tastefully furnished bedrooms on the second floor: a twin room to the rear of the house, and a king size room overlooking the Dyfi Estuary. This floor also features a shower room with a shower and WC. A steep cottage style final flight of stairs curves up and into the cosy attic bedroom. With low sloping ceilings and exposed beams, this snug and relaxing room has a king size bed and an en suite shower room with shower and WC. Stepping outside, there s a small back yard with a useful hot and cold hand shower, a lockable door for storing bikes and other equipment, and foldaway table and chairs so you can enjoy a morning coffee as you prepare for the day. Although the yard is enclosed, children and pets should be supervised. To the front of the property a small terrace features a bench offering views out to sea. You will also be provided with two free car passes for use in Aberdyfi s pay and display car parks the nearest is just 300 metres away.
