House in North Wales: Gwynedd

This beautiful house is located in the pretty village of Llanbedr. Situated on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, it is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, including the majestic Rhinog Mountains and the beautiful Mawddach Estuary. The village is situated on the banks of the River Arto, which is renowned for its fishing, and several hiking trails lead into the surrounding forests and mountains. Enjoy a day at the seaside with seaside resorts Barmouth (8.5 miles) and Fairbourne (10 miles) easily accessible. Explore the idyllic beaches and enjoy one of the many excellent restaurants. A must see attraction is the UNESCO World Heritage site, Harlech Castle (4 miles). This impressive medieval fortress dates back to the 13th century and offers visitors a glimpse into Wales rich history. Some of Wales premier adventure activities are nearby including Zip World (19 miles), Adventure Parc Snowdonia (37 miles) and King Arthur s Labyrinth (27 miles). This magnificent Edwardian house offers the perfect blend of period charm and modern luxury. The property is set in 1.5 acres of grounds and gardens within the Snowdonia National Park. The impressive hall welcomes you in and you are immediately drawn to the original parquetry hardwood flooring, in addition to superb ornamental plaster corbels and cornice ceiling roses. The two principal rooms at the front of the property offer a range of period features and enjoy far reaching views over Cardigan Bay. The sitting room enjoys egg and dart plaster cornicing, a magnificent ceiling rose and an arched recess with a lovely fireplace and wood burner, whilst the dining room offers original marquetry wood peripheral flooring throughout with geometric and fleur de lis insets of various kinds of wood. The TV and games room is sure to be a hit for all ages and the downstairs art deco style cloakroom is there for guests' convenience. The kitchen is well appointed with a cooking range, and breakfast table and chairs, while the utility/boot room, with its own wood burner, is an ideal place for drying clothes. Access to the first floor is via an exquisite staircase, featuring barley sugar turned balusters, mahogany handrails, newel posts and hand carved mahogany embellishments. A large half landing acts as the perfect stopgap and offers views over the surrounding countryside and coastline beyond. Upstairs, this impressive first floor landing offers superb ornamental plaster shell motifs to the ceiling. Four individually styled bedrooms and two bathrooms take up the entire first floor. The spacious master bedroom, with a super king size bed and en suite facilities, enjoys wonderful views, as does the king size room. The main family bathroom has an exquisite free standing bath taking centre stage with views towards Snowdon. On the upper floors of the property, which originally were the servant s quarters, are three further bedrooms all enjoying far reaching views over Cardigan Bay, surrounding countryside and mountains and two well appointed shower rooms. The stunning grounds surrounding the property provide an idyllic backdrop for outdoor living, with beautifully landscaped gardens, mature trees and three decked seating areas to enjoy the spectacular views. Enjoy a soak in the hot tub whilst looking up to the stars or taking in the picturesque surroundings.
