This home in Catalonia benefits from a hillside location with treetop vistas and views of the Catalan Coastal Range. The interiors are a bit basic and could do with a refresh, but we let this one slide due to its private pool, outdoor space and country views. There are four bedrooms and a pull-out couch, but this home only allows six guests, so we think it’s a great base for a group of friends wanting to sprawl out and explore rural Spain. You’re close to local shops and supermarkets, but you’ll have to drive a bit further for beach access, and Barcelona is 30km away.

*There's no ground-floor bedroom and bathroom here, so this home may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility
