If you want to explore further afield, it’s a short drive to Rethymno with its Venetian Harbour lined with tavernas.

Back at this home, lounge by the sparkling pool or unwind on the terrace with its glorious sea views, while the kids enjoy the private playground area. Grill some fresh, local produce on the barbecue in the outdoor kitchen and serve with some dakos (paximadi rusks soaked in olive oil, topped with grated fresh tomato and myzithra, a creamy goat’s milk cheese).
